Validation and Emotional Support
No one really gets it. Sharing our experiences with others can provide a sense of relief, easing the emotional weight this illness brings. And most importantly, reminding us that we're not facing these challenges alone.
Knowledge
Along with validation, practical information is vital. Experienced parents are an invaluable resource; from advice on navigating systems to sharing practical information and resources.
Encouragement and Hope
Sometimes we can feel like things will never get better. We can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. Giving encouragement and sharing the success stories is invaluable.
Mission Statement
ParentsBYachad aims to create a compassionate and inclusive community for Jewish parents raising children with mental illness. As parents ourselves, we understand the unique challenges faced in communities where support may be limited. Our mission is to offer parents the support, resources, and spiritual guidance needed to care for their children.
1
Community and Connection
No parent should face mental illness alone. ParentsBYachad is committed to building a supportive community through meetings, support groups, and online forums. We provide a safe space for parents to share experiences, gain insights, and find comfort, knowing they are not alone. Our community values empathy, understanding, and mutual respect, ensuring every parent's voice is heard.
2
Education and Advocacy
We educate parents on mental health, offering workshops, seminars, and expert advice on diagnosis, treatment, coping strategies, and self-care. With guidance from Rebbeim and other community leaders, we strengthen our faith and challenge the stigma of mental health challenges, promoting open dialogue and acceptance within the Jewish community.
3
Spiritual Support
Recognizing the role of faith in healing, we provide spiritual guidance, helping parents find meaning and strength in their journey through a Torah perspective.
4
Empowerment and Resources
We empower parents to advocate for their children and navigate the mental health system effectively. By sharing experiences and insights, we build a strong, supportive network, ensuring parents have the resources they need.
5
Vision for the Future
Our vision is a world where Jewish families facing mental illness are met with understanding, support, and compassion. We strive to be a beacon of hope, fostering a community where mental health is openly discussed, stigmas are eradicated, and every parent feels empowered to seek support.
